Alexandra Carlota Velasco is a Mexican filmmaker, director, and multimedia artist based in Los Angeles. With nearly a decade of experience across narrative film, art direction, and digital storytelling, she creates bold, emotionally resonant work that blends surrealism, horror, and social commentary through a distinctly bilingual female gaze.

Rooted in performance, visual art, and experimental media, Alexandra began her creative journey as a video and performance artist. Today, she channels that background into visually arresting, art house cinema—centering outsiders, rebels, and artists in stories shaped by the supernatural, the occult, and the subconscious. Her work moves fluidly between film and multimedia, using genre and magical realism to explore transformation, identity, and rage in a world where justice is often out of reach.

A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Alexandra launched her career in New York’s underground art scene before relocating to Los Angeles, where she founded Dreams Incarnate, a creative studio focused on radical visual storytelling. Her films and installations have screened internationally at festivals and museums—including Final Girls Berlin, Fashion Film Festival Milano, and NewFilmmakers LA—and her work has been featured in Vogue, i-D, Elle, IndieWire, NoBudge, and Variety.

As a director, she has collaborated with artists, brands, and production companies to create award-winning films, music videos, and immersive visual content. She has helmed projects for clients including Estrella Jalisco and the National Domestic Violence Hotline, and co-founded Sunstock, LA’s first solar-powered music and arts festival.

In 2021, Alexandra was selected as one of nine emerging filmmakers for the Blackmagic Future Directors of Studio Features, a competitive program offering mentorship and studio-level support to rising female directors.

Her latest film, Eternal Inferno—a stylized horror short and series proof-of-concept set in the tunnels beneath Mexico City—tells a vampire revenge story steeped in sexuality, justice, and transformation. It premiered at Final Girls Film Festival Berlin in 2025.

Bilingual and bicultural, Alexandra works at the intersection of cinema and visual art—pushing form and genre to tell stories that are immersive, fearless, and unforgettable.
